Carlie is 2.5!

A little over a week ago, our little Carlie-bug (who is really not so little anymore) officially became 2-and-a-half years old! Carlie continues to grow and change, it seems, right before our eyes. 90% of the time, she is our laid-back, go-with-the-flow little girl, but don't be mistaken; she will absolutely let you know when something upsets her!

Right now, Carlie is just moving in to size 3T clothing. She still wears size 4 diapers, size 6 shoes, and weighs about 28 pounds (which I actually think is less than she weighed at the last update, but she's definitely growing UP and thinning out)! She is currently around 36" tall!

Carlie has become a singer and dancer, as of late. I would say that her current favorite pastime is pretending she's a princess (or a queen, as the case may be). If "Let it Go" comes on, she must transform into Elsa (complete with dress!) and sing along while climbing North Mountain (or in our case, the stairs). Likewise, once the Anna dress is put on, Carlie will pester her sister until she agrees to reenact "Do You Want To Build a Snowman" through the door...if Haddy isn't available, she will run around shouting, "It's coronation day!" and break out into "For the First Time in Forever!"

Carlie will even spell her own name, but then when you ask her what the letters spell, she will look down to verify which princess dress she's wearing & then say that name instead of her own...or if you call her name, "Carlie - can you come here a minute?" she responds, "NO! I ELSA!" She amazes us daily with her pretend play - she REALLY gets into it! Her imaginative play has even gotten her into trouble, as one time she said she was pretending to eat Hadley, but REALLY bit her - right on the BUTT! And another time, she was brought to tears because Haddy told her that she drank all of Carlie's pretend chocolate milk in her cup!

Carlie knows all of her colors and most of her shapes. She can count to 12 or 13 (depending on the day) and she can sing the whole alphabet! She is beginning to recognize a few letters (C, A, P, T, H, O, B, D, G), as well! Carlie can also tell you her full name, but she needs to be reminded sometimes that she is "Bella Scholl" (for her middle name) instead of "Becca Scholl" (Haddy's). She loves to learn and is very excited about going to school next year like her big sister!

Carlie's Favorite Things
cats (nope, not 'rawr-rawrs' anymore), especially her Daisy cat, whom she carries EVERYWHERE
pretend-play
dancing
singing
doing puzzles
reading stories (being read to and looking at books on her own)
having her hair done in two pigtail braids (Anna braids, as she calls them)
mac and cheese & ham (her favorite meal)
dance class (she loves to dance with her Daisy cat and pretend that she is Miss Kristy, teaching her kitty to dance)
squeezy-fruit (fruit puree pouches)
